CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE
25:1-12 This is the 11th parable on the kingdom of Heaven. This is a favorite place for the Armenians to prove you "can lose it" and long used by the Calvinists to prove either the five virgins were professors only.
[1]. Virgins (plural) are found in the Tribulation, no the church-age (Rev. 14:1-6).
[2]. The virgin bride of Christ (2 Cor. 11:1-3) is always singular - Song. 6:8,9.
[3]. The virgin follows the Bride (Ps. 45:13,14) and they follow here at the end of the Tribulation (Ps. 50:3-5; Matt. 24:29-31).
[4]. They go to meet someone who is already married (Lk. 12:36).
[5]. If oil is a type of the Holy Spirit some do love it, and works are involved in obtaining a fresh supply (Rev. 14:12), which puts more meaning in Heb. 9:28 and a split-rapture a the end of the Tribulation.
[6]. Since Old Testament times return when the Body of Christ leaves, there has to be an element of works connected with salvation (Rom. 10:5), and David fully realize that these works are connected with losing the Holy Spirit (Ps. 51:11).
25:13 The passage then, historically, applies to Israel in the first part of Acts, contingent upon their receiving the kingdom message, which they did not receive. Having refused it, the passage becomes correct doctrine for an age in which they will receive it, the Tribulation.
25:31-46
Definitions of personalities:
[1]. Angels (vs. 31) saved people of this age, (Matt. 22:30).
[2]. Brethren (vs. 40), believing Jews (Matt. 28:10; 23:8; 20:24; 12:46-48; Heb. 2:12-17).
[3]. Time and Place - becomes the end of the Tribulation, exactly as it is found in every place in (Matt. 24-24; Joel 3:1,2; 9-15). Here the nations are judged for their treatment of those people who are never numbered among the nations (Num. 23:0).
[4]. The valley of Jehoshaphat (2 Chron. 17:1-6; 19:4-7) - a place of inquiry.
[5]. (Matt. 24-25) represent one of the roughest portions of scripture. Failure to get it right will be tantamount to theological suicide.
[6]. (Gen. 1 - Ex. 20) = grace operating through conscience.
[7]. (Ex 20 - Matt. 26) = faith and works operating through the law.
[8]. (Acts 10 - Philemon) = grace operating through faith.
[9]. (Heb. - Rev. 20) = faith and works operating through the gospel and the law.
[10]. (Rev. 20-22) = works only.
