Lesson Seven
Esther - A Type of The Church
I. Esther is a Jew, but not identified as one -
A. The Church is connected to Abraham (Rom. 4:16), but not perceived that way by the world - we are grafted into the same root stock (Rom. 11).
II. Esther is purified (2:12)
A. The world is satisfied to live in filth, but wants better for themselves (Eph. 5:27).
III. Esther is the Jews only real friend -
A. The reason America is a friend to Israel, is the quantity of Christians (Rom. 11:1,2,13-21,25-28).
IV. Esther approaches the king circumspectly (Eph. 5:15)
A. "Be circumspect" (Ex. 23:13) - circle the wagons rather than crashing in.
V. Esther, as the church, identifies the Anti-Christ (7:6; 2 Thess. 2:1-4; Zech. 11:12-17).
VI. Esther is a Queen with great influence (9:29)
A. Opportunity for great gifts (5:3; Psa. 45:9-17).
