Lesson Five
Haman - The Type of The Anti-Christ
I. The world advances him (3:1) and gives him political prestige - "above all princes"
A. (Dan. 9:25-27) - notice Prince of (vs. 25) is capitalized - prince of (vs. 26) is not.
B. His political power is second only to the one who gave it to him (Rev. 13:1-4).
II. His great desire is to be worshipped (3:2,5)
A. (Dan. 11:36-37) - "magnify himself" - Has the world bought in to the "Spirit of the Anti-Christ" by magnifying self?
[1]. Self worship is the theme of the age.
B. Jesus' warning (Matt. 24:14-15; Dan. 11:31).
III. He does not fool everyone (3:2)
A. Church may identify him - (2 Thess. 2:1-5).
B. However, Mordecai being a Jew probably types the two witnesses of (Rev. 11:3-5).
C. Mordecai is honored (Chap. 6) even though his life is designed against - Haman is killed but his but his own design (Rev. 11:5).
IV. He possess an intense hatred for the Jews (3:8-13; Rev. 12:13-17)
V. His pride is ultimately dealt with (6:9-11; Prov. 16:18; 29:23).
A.Satan is King of Pride - (Job 4:34; Dan. 4:37; Rev. 20:10).
