Review!
Did you ever wonder what some special house is like? Perhaps it was the biggest house in your town, or the most ornate, or the coziest in appearance or the one with the uncertain mystery! Have you ever given much thought to what God's house is like (Jn. 14:2)?
I. A picture of Heaven -
In the Old Testament, a house is a picture of Heaven (Heb. 9:19-24).
II. A Place of Peace - (Ps. 122)
Jerusalem is not presently a place of peace, but it will be someday. Heaven is! NO CONFLICT!
A. Peace with God - (Rom. 5:1); all your controversies with God will be over.
B. Peace of God - (Phil. 4:7); all your controversies with yourself - notice (vs. 8) has to do with what you think on!
III. A Place of Abiding Covenant - Eternal covenant (2 Kings 23:1,2)
Christ is the mediator of a better covenant (Heb. 8:1-6)
"For ever, Oh LORD, Thy word is settled in heaven." (Ps. 119:89)
IV. A Place of Flourishing - (Ps. 92:12-15) not diminishing.
V. A Place of Beauty and Safety - (Ps. 27:4-14) easy on the mind! (Rev. 21:18-20)
