Choosing Companions
INTRODUCTION: A great deal of what we are or ever hope to be depends upon our companions. Many a person has had their life ruined because of wrong company. Solomon warns "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not" (Prov. 1:10). This admonition is expanded upon in (Prov. 4:14-19). There are several kinds of people that the Christian ought to be very careful about associating with. Some of these may even be other Christians, but the message is plain to stay away. A mature person will realize these following types of people will be detrimental to their lives and will avoid them as much as possible.
A. The Violent - (Prov. 1:11-19, 16:29)
B. The Greedy - (Prov. 1:19)
Greed manifest itself in different ways -
The violent thief - 1:11-19; 29:24
The proud rich - 23:1-8; 11:28
The subtle thief - 28:6, 2:15
The can't wait crowd - 28:20-22
C. The Froward - "To be of course, going forward but swerving to one side or the other." (Prov. 2:12; 6:12-15; 11:20)
D. Those who hate knowledge - (Prov. 1:29; 3:13; 4:5-7; 10:14; 13:13,20; 15:32)
E. The Immoral women - (Prov. 2:16-19; 5:1-23; 6:24-35; 7:1-27; 9:13-18; 23:27-28; 29:3)
F. The Talebearer - (Prov. 6:19; 11:13; 16:27; 18:8; 20:19; 26:20-22)
H. One who talks too much - (Prov. 10:19; 17:9; 21:23)

A fool is one who:
